What to Expect at Your Appointment

When you book your first visit, let us know what brings you in—whether it’s a broken tooth, a checkup and clean, or a specific concern. We’ll schedule the right amount of time and have everything prepared for you. Please arrive 15 minutes early to complete new patient forms, including your medical history. If you take medications, bring a list with you, and if possible, a copy of your most recent dental X-rays.

Your appointment will include a discussion of your concerns, followed by a thorough examination of your teeth, gums, and jaw. If required, we may take new digital radiographs or scans to provide the clearest picture of your oral health. Should any treatment be recommended, we’ll talk you through all options and provide a detailed treatment plan—including costs—so you’ll always know what to expect.

What can I expect on my first visit?
You’ll be greeted by our friendly team and asked to complete paperwork including a medical history. Your dentist will then discuss your needs and perform an exam, followed by any further diagnostics if required.

Should I bring anything with me?

Yes. Please bring a list of any medications, copies of recent dental X-rays if you have them, and your health fund card.

Will I be given the cost in advance?

Absolutely. Every patient receives a clear treatment plan outlining procedures, options, and costs before any services begin.

Do you have payment plans?

Yes. We accept all health funds via HICAPS, credit cards, cash and Afterpay. Denticare offers interest-free payment plans for treatment not covered by insurance. Discounts are also available for students, pensioners, seniors, and hospital or university staff.

What if I’m pregnant?

Regular dental care is safe and encouraged during pregnancy. Hormonal changes can affect gums, so checkups and cleans are especially important. Let us know if you’re experiencing issues such as bleeding gums or enamel wear from morning sickness—we’ll provide tailored care to support you and your baby.
