The dental check-up
Regular dental check-ups are the best way to prevent any major dental work and it is by far the most cost effective way to go about your dental health.
We all have busy lives and visiting your dentist can easily be forgotten but it is an essential step in maintaining a healthy mouth.
Regular check-ups are recommended at a maximum of 6 month intervals where your dentist will be able to spot early enough any dental problems that may be developing.
Sometimes it will be recommended to have a professional clean to keep your teeth and gums healthy between check-ups and prevent the build-up of plaque.
Check-ups, cleans and many associated services are often covered to members of private health insurance funds who have extras in their cover.
Dental check-ups for babies
It is recommended that parents bring their newborn babies to their dental visit to receive some early advice.
Then children as young as two years of age are seen for a regular check-up and clean so that they become familiarised with the dentist and the oral health therapist.
